Known for its farm-fresh ingredients and creative menu, this charming breakfast restaurant serves up a remarkable array of dishes that cater to every palate, all within a cozy, bustling atmosphere that feels like a true neighborhood gem.

Start your morning with their standout Banana Bread French Toast—a dish that many patrons describe as nothing short of spectacular. Imagine thick, custardy slices of banana bread, delicately grilled to golden perfection, and laced with a subtle sweetness that melts on your tongue. Another notable favorite is the Waffle Cristo, a delightful twist blending fluffy waffles with savory ham and melted cheese, creating a harmony of textures and flavors that's simply irresistible.

For those seeking hearty options, the Mexican Omelet is bursting with chorizo sausage, sautéed onions, peppers, potatoes, and jalapeños, topped with melted Cheddar cheese and served alongside a fresh salsa. Seafood aficionados will delight in the Lobster and Brie Omelet, stuffed with tender lobster chunks, creamy Brie, and a hint of smoky sautéed onions and tomatoes, crowned with a luscious lobster bisque that elevates the dish to elegant luxury.

If you prefer lighter fare, the Classic Avocado Toast and its robust cousin, the AvoCobbO Toast, offer a vibrant combination of smashed avocado, crisp Applewood bacon, fresh greens, and ripe tomatoes, all seasoned with house blends and balanced by two perfectly cooked eggs. For gluten-free diners, the GF Blueberry Pancakes are a fluffy, sweet treat that doesn’t compromise on flavor or texture.

Guests frequently commend Uptown Grill not just for the food, but the warm, friendly service and inviting atmosphere. Whether it’s the attentive waitstaff, the sight of the owner working alongside his team, or the comfortable, intimate setting that buzzes with local charm, the restaurant creates an experience that feels personal and memorable.

Customer experiences paint a vivid picture of this beloved spot. Devin Cleveland-Stein recalls being “blown away” by the banana bread French toast and the rich flavors of the brisket breakfast taco. Allison Boomer’s praise for dishes such as the Blueberry French Toast, Lobster Benny, and Bananas Foster Pancakes highlights the consistent quality and creativity on offer. Jason Uphold appreciated not only the generous portions and reasonable prices but also the pleasant ambiance, expressing a heartfelt wish to become regular visitors.

Mel K loved the homemade touch that permeates the menu, noting the fresh, made-to-order feel in every bite—especially in the banana French toast and Greek omelet—though she cautioned that the Philly chicken sub fell short. Joseph Church was impressed by the personable service, singling out server Skylar’s attentiveness and the owner’s hands-on involvement as factors that made their first visit exceptional.

A local family suggested this place for breakfast to my group and I'm glad they did. I was absolutely blown away by how delicious the banana bread French toast was. I also got to try the brisket breakfast taco which was great, but the French toast stole the show. It's a smaller restaurant so my group of 4 had a 30min wait before being seated. The waitresses were great but seemed like they all had their hands full and were doing their best with the massive workload they had.

My wife and I visited this weekend on our way to Traverse City. The ambiance was pleasant and enjoyable. The food was tasty, with good portion sizes and reasonable prices. The service was excellent. I wish we lived closer to Bay City as I am certain we would be visiting regularly. Thanks for the great experience!

Great vibe, friendly staff, and freshly made food! Everything seemed homemade and cooked to order. The price wasn't bad for what we got. We had the banana French toast, Greek omelet, and philly chicken sub. We highly recommend the first two. The chicken was dry in the sandwich, but the homemade chips and homemade bread that came with it were great.

This was our first time in to uptown grill. Our server Skylar was incredible... Awesome to see the owner works the floor with his staff. Everyone was extremely friendly. The even sun out toast for pancakes, bread, or another option.

Uptown Grill delivers delicious breakfast and lunch fare with a smile! Our waitress Jenny kept our drinks filled and offered excellent advice. My wife enjoyed the cinnamon swirl French toast with a generous side of bacon, while I delighted in the "Not Your Everyday Grilled Cheese" with wonderfully seasoned house made chips. Absolutely a great breakfast lunch spot--we will be back! If you find this review helpful, please give it a thumbs up--Thanks!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Always a Fantastic Experience! My son and I stopped in for brunch and mimosas, and once again everything was amazing. The breakfast was delicious, the staff is wonderful, and the atmosphere keeps us coming back. We’ve been here multiple times and it truly seems to get better with every visit. The owner is fantastic — always chatting with customers and making everyone feel welcome. It’s one of those places you love to visit again and again!

Uptown Grill in Bay City is a culinary gem worth exploring. Their brisket tacos were an absolute delight - a flavorful combination of tender meat, eggs and a touch of chipotle that left me wanting more. My spouse's blueberry bread french toast was equally impressive, the sweetness of the bread perfectly balanced by the tart berry sauce. The overall ambiance and quality of the food definitely warrant a high recommendation. However, the service was disappointingly slow. Our brunch outing stretched beyond 90 minutes, which felt excessive. While the wait was mitigated by the delicious food, a faster turnaround time would enhance the dining experience considerably. If you're looking for a memorable meal, Uptown Grill delivers on taste and quality. Just be prepared to settle in for a leisurely brunch.
